Definition of CuriousCurious - (Adjective) Eager to know or learn something.

Today, I was curious what I would find if I Googled "Auto Insurance Nashville, TN." The results were surprising. Not one local independent agency came up in the search. There were the expected paid ads for the big brand names that are churning the masses, and organic links tied to specific companies, but not to an independent agency.

Remember, an independent agent represents you, the insured, is not an employee of any one insurance company, and can offer more than one company to the insured seeking coverage. The results lend itself to what we call "Do It Yourself" — meaning get your own quotes online, pick your own coverage, and choose your own limits and deductibles. If you're someone that is thinking about "Do It Yourself" insurance, let me share what they won't tell you:

They are hoping you'll click them first because they know whoever gets the first click to quote is likely to win the business.

Why? By nature, the majority of people are lazy and willing to accept the first thing perceived to be better or cheaper.

They are hoping you are only concerned with price.

They can give you a low price and tell you that you don't need higher limits, and can go without coverages like Uninsured Motorist - which is simply not true! Knowledge is power! When you are being educated by someone who understands insurance, is aware of your needs, is knowledgeable about the risks, and has more than one solution, it is not beneficial to companies that offer "online quotes" or companies that only allow offer one solution.

They are spending a fortune to keep you from talking with agencies like us.

As I stated from the beginning, not one independent agency is located on Page 1 of the search results. They know if you talk with an independent agent who has multiple companies they are much less likely to earn your business. Day in and day out agencies like mine can give you better coverage, higher limits, and still offer a competitive price.

Bottom Line:Get Curious! You'll be pleasantly surprised if you work with a knowledgeable independent insurance agency, with multiple companies to compare coverage and price, and you'll likely get some great advice to protect you, should you need the coverage — after all isn't that why we have insurance?
